Spring has sprung!

Finally...I think. The weather here in Richmond is always unpredictable for the month of April but as May draws nearer I am hopeful that we can put away our sweaters for now. We did enjoy Spring Break in Savannah this year and had so much fun with family and it was great to have Dad home with us for a whole week. Here are some pictures and highlights from our trip...

Gracie found a friend at the Oatland Island Nature Center. She is in love with pigs but was really concerned with why this one was not PINK!The kids at Oatland Island.

We had a fun time on our fishing trip...Gracie caught the first fish...a Large Mouth Bass but was a little scared to stand anywhere near it (notice she ran out of the picture!)

Samuel caught quite a few fish and was proud of every one of them.Bubs had fun fishing but unfortunately all he caught that time was a DUCK! A duck swam right into his line and broke his line and ended the fishing for him.

Savannah SandGnats game...Here is Nate the Gnat.

Tybee was a nice trip...I guess I have lived up here in the North a little too long. I didn't have the kids wear suits since I was certain the water would be too cold...well it was not cold at all...and didn't stop them from getting in the water...

Hours and hours of football, baseball, soccer...etc.

Making some cookies with Nana.

After a wonderful week with the kiddos my cup is running over. God has truly blessed us and these are the memories to remind me of His wonderful love for us.

It never ceases to amaze me...

By that , I mean what the things this kid does.

So...today was one of those frustrating days. Bubs comes home with a note that he ran from his teacher AGAIN and that this time he ran out the front door. Just don't know sometimes if you want to laugh or cry. I mean seriously. This time wasn't as scary as the time he ran into the woods. But...how many times will I hear that a teacher has to chase my kid around the school.

Then...to top it off his homework was maddening. I really cannot bear it some days. The reading and writing are somewhat productive but most days the math just simply makes me want to bang my head on the table a dozen times. Today the math was using a HUNDREDS chart. Oh my...it took me a while but I did begin to realize that the amount of numbers on the page was what was causing the shut down. 20 minutes into the second problem I realized that if I color coded the chart it became more manageable. But now we still had 12 more problems on the page...YIKES. Okay so finally we get finished. There was just about no more patience left so I thought some space was gonna do us both good...then I hear him at the school table. Here is what he was doing....

Translation...1.cup 2. Buzz 3. pencil 4. egg hunt (copied that from my sign in the room) :)
5.Dad 6.Box 7. rocks 8. water

So...that's why I say the kid never ceases to amaze me. What's bottled in that brain just needs more ways to get out...he just needs more time...he just needs a mom who continues to believe in him. I pray God gives me the daily strength to do just that...

and man I just love that kid!
